What does Forest Friendly Coffee even mean?

When I was first reading about Indian coffee, I was pretty skeptical, but as I learned more, the more impressed I became. There are low-acid options. There are women-grown options. And equally significant to me, there are truly sustainable coffees grown as the standard in India. I say truly sustainable because the buzzword driven society in which we live loves to skip over substance for a cliche. I’m not interested in that. In most of the world, growing coffee feeds deforestation. In India, farmers have tried something else with consistency: growing with the forest. This matters to the soil, the sustainability of coffee growing and to the animals, especially the birds, who call the forests home.
