About The Myth
My Greek Grandmother taught me how to read and how to tie my shoes, and she introduced me to coffee. Each fresh pot she brewed reminded her of the diner her immigrant father started on Pine & Western in Muskegon, Michigan. I grew up hearing the stories of Hercules, Icarus and the Greek gods. The name Mythology is an ode to my family’s Greek origins and the myths that spark my imagination even now as an adult.
I grew up drinking coffee and grew in my appreciation of it’s beautiful complexity over time. In 2019, I went to India on a trip, and I experienced amazing, low-acid coffee for the first time. I want to share Indian Coffee with everyone who loves good coffee. Combining Indian Coffee and Greek Mythology might seem like a stretch, but I’m ok with that.
The coffee Mythology sells is first and foremost uniquely delicious. Most brands are selling the same coffee everyone else has roasted slightly differently. This premium coffee comes from small holdings across Southern India. These beans are specially selected for their consistent size, bright flavor, unique low-acidity, and sustainable farming practices. It isn’t like anything you’ve probably had before.
The last piece of what makes what Mythology is doing unique is how we give back. Human trafficking is something more prevalent in India that anywhere else in the world. For kids that get rescued, they need a chance to own their future. That’s a future we want to be a part of with every purchase. 10% of the price of every bag you buy provides vocational training to girls rescued from trafficking in the regions where this coffee is grown.
