Launching the Myth

I’ve always loved coffee, and I have had several cups a day even when I began to notice it upset my stomach. In 2019, I went to India on a trip, and I experienced the most amazing, low-acid coffee that had all of the benefits, but none of the previous drawbacks. I was inspired to combine my Greek heritage with my experience in India, and Mythology Coffee was born. It’s a myth you can’t have the coffee you want. The flagship coffee, Zeus Monsoon, comes from the State of Karnataka in South West India. The slow drying process known as “monsooning” results in a smooth, low-acidity coffee that is easy on the stomach. Zeus, king of the gods and hurler of lightning, was the natural partner to accompany Monsoon.

As I spoke to people about the initial idea, shop owners who work directly with farms across South America and Africa mentioned that the coffee farming world often excludes women who work the fields don’t benefit from the profits. So, I started looking for coffee produced by women where women benefit. Surprisingly to me, a large number of small coffee farms in India are run by women. In Greek Mythology, muses brought beauty and song to the lives of mortals and inspired them to achieve greatness. To honor the energy and work of the women who grow it, our initial more traditional, washed Arabica offering is called Muse.

It’s a great pleasure to introduce Zeus Monsoon & Muse to the world as Mythology launches this holiday season. Indian Coffee deserves the chance to be enjoyed and highlighted around the world. I’m grateful to share this coffee with you.
